How to Spend 2 Days in Havana


Havana is known to be an exotic island filled with interesting history and perfumed with mystery.


To guide you on your 2-day travel to this mystical place here’s a quick daily agenda on the things you should never miss out on when you are in Havana!



Day 1

1. Get Settled and enjoy the majesty of Havana’s historical hotels like the Hotel Nacional, Hotel Plaza, or the Hotel Inglaterra.  For a more contemporary feel, check out the beautiful Havana Riviera. Or for those who really want to immerse themselves in Havana’s rich culture, some private homes in Havana offer bed and breakfast.
2. Begin a Gastronomical Journey into Cuba’s Cuisine by starting your day with a Cuban snack. Try the Comida Criolla (Creole Cuisine) which is Cuba’s main cuisine. Try the La Parilla or the La Plancha

3Get a History Lesson by feasting your eyes on Havana’s architectural wonders either by riding an antique horse carriage or simply exploring the city by foot.  Visit the Plaza de Armas, Plaza Vieja,  and the Plaza de la Revolucion.


4. Enjoy a full Cuban Dinner! Order a totally unfamiliar Cuban dish! Try the Ropa Vieja or the Cerdo Asado!

5. Delve into Havana’s Nightlife and dance the night away by visiting hot  nightspots like the Club Nocturno Havana Club or the Palacio de la Rumba. Try out Havana’s specialty cocktails like the Havana Especial, the Cuba Libre, or the Canchanchara!


Day 2


1. Have a Cuban Breakfast! Take some time to relax from and just savor the goodness of Cuban food.

2. Take Pleasure in Havana’s stunning beaches. Enjoy the sun, the sand, and the sea at Havana’s famous beaches namely the Playas del Este or the Playa Sirena.

3. Gaze upon Havana’s Works of Art  by visiting the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, the Museo de Artes Decorativas, or the Museo Emilio Bacardi.

4.  Investigate the Mystical Art of Santeria. Get to know the religion’s beliefs, their deities, rituals and other artifacts. You can find Santeria Elekes (necklaces) at local shops.

5. Buy yourself some awesome Cuban Mementos  at the La Casa del Habano, a shop specializing in Cuban Cigars. You can also buy other Cuban handicrafts, traditional music instruments, and other goodies in markets around Havana.

2 Days in Havana might not seem enough to get the most out of this wondrous place. But if you make the most out of your time, and plan the trip accordingly, then you'll get a taste of every little good piece of Havana in your trip!
